Social Media Posting and Supervision Intern
Oversee daily/weekly social content (newsletters, guides, research)
Plan and execute monthly post schedules on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram
Share daily Canadian M&A trends via LinkedIn Newsletter
Newsletter Production Intern
Create monthly "Mergers & Acquisitions Insights" for Canadian business owners (< $50M revenue)
Develop quarterly newsletters for capital providers, intermediaries, advisors, and corporates (> $50M revenue) on topics like Canadian market-entry and strategic updates
Platform Maintenance and Analytics Intern
Maintain and enhance GoDaddy website, HubSpot pages, social channels, Brevo newsletters, Plannable tools
Compile monthly analytics from Google Analytics, GoDaddy, HubSpot, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and Brevo
Content Creation and Outreach Intern
Develop blogs, articles, reports, assessments, book chapters, and podcasts
Supervise high-resolution social image creation and video adaptation of articles
Update website with new content and strategic advisor profiles
Research podcast guest opportunities and influencer outreach; schedule virtual meetings
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the Marketing Coordinator to fulfill our thought leadership strategy
Utilize AI tools (e.g., Grok 3) for content, trend analysis, and personalization
Engage in bi-weekly progress reviews and weekly team check-ins
Prepare and deliver cohort handoff reports for seamless transitions
Drive innovative marketing initiatives to enhance deal flow in M&A

Ideal Candidate Profile

The Shaughnessy Group is looking for a bright, motivated young professional with experience in the corporate and commercial finance industry. Must be interested in a career in the investment banking industry. Will work remotely in collaboration with our experienced industry leaders. Must be a self-starter and comfortable working both independently from your home-based office and virtually as a part of a team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct in-depth market, industry, and company research

Build comprehensive and complex financial valuation models, including discounted cash flow, comparable company, and precedent transaction, without the use of templates

Prepare company, industry, and market briefing documents

Aid with preparation of engagement letters and agency agreements

Use relevant third-party date services and software to research and financial analysis

Apply knowledge of accounting principles to inform financial analysis, including International Financial Reporting Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook to complete cloud-based computer-based tasks

Qualifications

Our internships are open to individuals who have successfully completed undergraduates studies, and pursuing a Chartered Financial Analyst and or Graduate (Masters) Degree.

Knowledge of investment banking processes and related industry practices
Must be able to adapt and prioritize, meeting deadlines, in a fast-paced environment
Must have a positive, professional attitude and always show professionalism
Must be able to work well independently with an ability to work collaboratively with others
Must be able to keep confidentiality, use judgment, and work with minimal supervision
Should be highly motivated, independent but able to work within a team in an environment that is fast paced and rapidly changing
Exceptional analytical skills
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and quality of work
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong interest in M&A, digital marketing, and AI-driven strategies
Experience with Google Analytics, HubSpot, social media, content creation tools (e.g., Canva, video editors); AI tools a plus
Self-motivated, organized, resourceful, proactive, self-driven and comfortable working remote/hybrid
Enthusiastic about joining a high-impact team – M&A experience not required
